Requirements

  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a valid Green Card.

  • Language: Must speak and write English proficiently.

  • Certifications:

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

    • Provide COVID-19 vaccination documentation.

    • Provide verification of current PPD/TB test results.

  • NPI Number: Must provide current NPI number.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Physical Therapy experience required.

  • Education: Degree in Physical Therapy from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited college, university, or institution (recognized by the U.S. Department of Education).

  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain government security clearance.

Compensation & Employment Terms

  • Contract/1099 Hourly Rate: $60/hour (as needed basis).

  • Employment Status: 1099 Contract initially, with potential transition to full-time employment.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist will provide comprehensive physical therapy services, including assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, to patients with a variety of diagnoses. The PT will work with both individual and group sessions to improve patient outcomes, independence, and quality of life.

  • Caseload:

    • 6–10 outpatients daily (depending on diagnosis).

    • 4–8 patients per 1-hour group setting (depending on diagnosis).

Scope of Care & Responsibilities

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations for patients with diagnoses such as orthopedic, neurologic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, geriatric, chronic pain, wound care/lymphedema, pelvic health, and others.

  • Perform evaluations including musculoskeletal assessments, therapy screenings, prosthetic/adaptive equipment assessments, aquatic therapy, wheelchair seating, pelvic health, and home evaluations.

  • Accurately identify physical deficits and functional problems; establish individualized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals.

Treatment & Intervention

  • Deliver evidence-based treatment interventions, which may include:

    • Therapeutic exercises

    • Neuromuscular re-education

    • Gait analysis and training

    • Functional activity training

    • Pain prevention and management

    • Adaptive equipment evaluation and prescription

    • Electric modalities, hot/cold therapy

    • Aquatic therapy

    • Wheelchair seating/positioning

    • Wound/lymphedema management

  • Provide or oversee direct patient care, ensuring the most appropriate treatment techniques are utilized.

Communication & Documentation

  • Accurately document all patient assessments, baseline measurements, progress notes, and discharge plans.

  • Provide verbal and written communication regarding patient status and progress to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Initiate discharge planning at admission and prepare individualized home education and aftercare programs.

Quality of Care

  • Ensure assessments are completed accurately 100% of the time.

  • Apply infection control standards, patient safety measures, and age-appropriate care principles.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Patient assessment and therapeutic skills across multiple specialties (neurological, orthopedic, geriatric, psychiatric).

  • Strong understanding of equipment utilization, patient education, infection control, and safety standards.

  • Ability to manage information effectively and document in both paper and electronic health records.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule

  • Shift: 8-hour day shifts

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday

  • Weekends: None
